Our Story
Tecendo Sonhos Program was created in 2014 from the project Uma Mensagem para a Liberdade. In its first year the initiative was executed by Aliança Empreendedora and funded by Fundação Rockefeller.
Since then, it has been supporting micro-entrepreneurs, sewing shop owners or those who want to open their business through a network of partners and strategic organizations that, in addition to providing access to specific knowledge for immigrants and women from Agreste Pernambucano to develop their businesses, also seek to disseminate important information for the cause and in the development of public policies that promote worthy working relationships in the textile chain.
Supported Entrepreneurs:
more than 3.500 supported entrepreneurs
over 14,000 migrants indirectly impacted (workers and family members)
87% women / 80% Bolivians / 9% Venezuelans
more than 20 free online Spanish content available
more than 60 media insertions (2020) – 26.2 million people reached
more than 6 thousand people reached in LIVES and online events in 2020 and 2021
In 8 years, Tecendo Sonhos Program has already carried out the following actions:
Mentoring and support in the construction of Instituto ALINHA, an important partner for regularization and insertion in the market of the workshops supported by the Program.
Co-creation with organizations CAMI, PAL e Si, Yo Puedo! of methodology adapted to sewing workshops (MEIs) aiming at the promotion of fair labor relations, formalization, pricing, productivity increase, and bargaining power.
Co-creation with International Labor Organization (ILO) methodology for sewing workshops inserted in the National Simples.
Three allied organizations replicating the methodology in their communities - Greater São Paulo.
Network with more than 30 partners and ambassadors to support migrants, owners of sewing workshops
Expansion of the program to the Agreste Pernambucano region, municipalities of Caruaru-PE and Toritama-PE, aimed at women in the sewing area
